Petra: The Petra Health Directorate, in cooperation with the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), illuminated the famous Treasury fa§ade (Al-Khazneh) in Petra in pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative aims to raise community awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and to encourage prevention and early treatment as part of national efforts to protect the health of Jordanian women and promote a culture of health awareness.
Organizers of the initiative said that lighting the Treasury in pink embodies Petra's humanitarian and cultural message and reflects Jordan's ongoing commitment to health and humanitarian issues that impact human life and well-being.
They noted that the event highlights the importance of cooperation among the health, tourism, and community sectors in fostering a culture of awareness and safety and underscores Jordan's leading role in supporting global efforts to enhance patient safety and protect women's health through awareness and early detection of the disease.
