Police Foil 7 Major Drug Cases, Arrest 13 Suspects

Amman: The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has handled seven major cases of drug smuggling and trafficking, arresting 13 suspects and seizing large quantities of narcotics across several governorates.

According to Jordan News Agency, the AND personnel arrested a suspect trying to bring 80,000 pills into the Kingdom hidden in a car compartment. The intended recipient inside Jordan was later caught.

In another case, a man was arrested for attempting to smuggle 44,000 pills with help from accomplices abroad. Another case involved three suspects importing paper sheets soaked with synthetic cannabis through postal parcels; all were arrested after one parcel was seized.

In the Central Badia, four armed suspects with prior drug records were arrested for cultivating and selling marijuana. Authorities seized marijuana plants, packaged drugs, and an automatic firearm. Another dealer was detained for possessing cocaine.

In Mafraq, a drug dealer was arrested after police found 20,000 pills hidden in a tree at his home, while in Irbid, another was caught with 10 blocks of hashish.
