Prime Minister Jafar Hassan Affirms Jordan’s Commitment to Moderation and Tolerance

Amman: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan has declared that under the leadership of the Hashemite monarchy, Jordan's identity remains firmly rooted in the principles of moderation and tolerance. He made these remarks during a meeting at the Ministry of Awqaf, Affairs and Islamic Holy Sites, emphasizing the nation's dedication to these values as a means of rejecting extremism and exclusion.

According to Jordan News Agency, Prime Minister Hassan highlighted the essential role played by the Ministry of Awqaf, Affairs and Islamic Holy Sites in fostering these values. He discussed the significance of instilling a strong belief in God, love for the country, and respect for others in future generations. Hassan stressed that tolerance and moderation should translate into constructive actions, rooted in faith, loyalty to the king, and a commitment to the nation of Jordan.

Hassan commended the Ministry's efforts in maintaining mosques, Quran memorization centers, and promoting social protection. He reiterated Jordan's dedication to safeguarding Al-Aqsa Mosque and its environs, emphasizing the Hashemite guardianship as a critical force against Israeli extremism and attempts to alter the city's Arab Islamic and Christian identity.

He also praised the work of the Jerusalem Endowments Department, noting its contribution to preserving the identity of Islamic Jerusalem and supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people. In preparation for the upcoming Hajj season, the Prime Minister reviewed the Ministry's preparations, urging measures to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims throughout their journey. He called for a prompt response from administrative and medical teams and emphasized the need for an effective communication system, including a hotline for Jordanian pilgrims requiring assistance.

Discussing the theme of charity, Hassan portrayed Jordan as a model of unity, highlighting the potential of charitable initiatives to benefit the elderly, orphans, and the establishment of educational, health, and social services. He underscored the importance of the comprehensive modernization project aimed at enhancing the country's economic, political, administrative, and social foundations, urging collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, and civil society to achieve these goals.

Minister of Awqaf, Affairs and Islamic Holy Sites, Muhammad Khalayleh, announced that the promotion of Jordanian pilgrims to the Holy Land would commence on May 23. He expressed the ministry's commitment to providing comprehensive care and guidance to pilgrims for a smooth and fulfilling experience. Khalayleh elaborated on the Ministry's advocacy efforts through enhanced preaching programs, the rehabilitation of religious leaders, and the establishment of Quranic recitation centers. He emphasized the ministry's role in promoting an Islamic discourse that embodies tolerance and justice while preserving national stability and security.

Khalayleh also outlined the Ministry's developmental and economic initiatives, including endowment fund investments, financial assistance programs for needy families, and efforts to build housing units for the underprivileged.
