Amman:Prime Minister Jafar Hassan congratulated Ibrahim Tarawneh on Monday following his election as the new House Speaker.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hassan expressed gratitude towards former Speaker Mazen Qadi for his service during the previous year. As the new parliamentary term begins, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to implementing directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, as outlined in the Speech from the Throne.
Hassan assured that the executive branch would continue its collaborative approach with the legislature, in accordance with the constitution and the commitments made in the government's confidence policy statement. He highlighted the importance of maintaining active dialogue and consultation with parliamentary blocs and lawmakers regarding legislation and national policy. This partnership, Hassan noted, is essential for deepening the political modernization process initiated along with the current council.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the lawmakers' efforts in supporting the government's work under the Royal Letter of Designation and the Kingdom's modernization agenda, including the necessary legislative requirements for its implementation.
