Amman: Prime Minister Hassan emphasized the significance of conducting cabinet sessions in various governorates as a means to enhance unified development planning across the nation. He announced the establishment of a high-standard teachers' club in Jerash and highlighted plans to replicate such facilities throughout all governorates to benefit teachers and their families.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hassan praised the achievements of Jordanian universities and their graduates, describing them as a source of national pride. Despite this praise, he acknowledged existing challenges within the higher education system and emphasized the need for ongoing reforms to better align educational outcomes with labor market demands and to improve overall performance.
Addressing regional affairs, Hassan noted that Jordan's neighboring regions were experiencing "profound transformations." He reiterated Jordan's belief in a shared Arab future and highlighted the country's central role in recent developments in Syria. He affirmed Amman's support for Syria's sovereignty, unity, and recovery, stating that relations with the Syrian government were excellent and consultations across all sectors were positive and optimistic.
Hassan confirmed Jordan's continued support for Syria through various means, including diplomacy, civil defense, humanitarian assistance, technical expertise, and administrative cooperation. He mentioned improved conditions at the Sweida border and highlighted Jordan's key diplomatic role in stabilizing the situation.
Regarding the conflict in Gaza, Hassan expressed hope for an end to Israeli aggression and the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, emphasizing that Jordan's top priority remains delivering humanitarian aid and supporting the people of Gaza. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to the Palestinian cause, stressing the urgency of protecting Palestinians on their land to further efforts with the international community towards establishing a Palestinian state and restoring legitimate rights.
Hassan noted that Jordan continues to deliver aid to Gaza daily under challenging circumstances, emphasizing that these efforts have not ceased for a single day or hour.
In the tourism sector of Jerash, Hassan announced plans for a significant development project set to open in two years at a site initially designated for an industrial city. The project, led by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature in collaboration with the government, will feature a hotel, eco-resort, conference hall, family areas, nature-friendly playgrounds, and swimming pools.
Additionally, he unveiled a package of water infrastructure projects aimed at addressing chronic shortages in Jerash. These projects include a summer expansion of free water tanker deliveries, with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation set to double the number of tankers to help mitigate supply disruptions.
