Prince El Hassan Advocates for Regional Cooperation to Enhance Human Dignity and Stability

Amman:According to Jordan News Agency, Prince El Hassan bin Talal emphasized the need for a unified regional approach that links people, resources, development, and security, focusing on human dignity and building partnerships to address the region's challenges.

During a meeting with participants of the Swedish Institute for Dialogue's Mutual Mentorship Program, Prince El Hassan engaged in discussions on regional and international issues, highlighting the importance of the "35th meridian east" due to its resource conflicts and strategic significance. He noted the region's natural wealth, such as Red Sea mining and Arabian-Nubian Shield mineral resources, and addressed energy shifts in the Eastern Mediterranean and their geopolitical impact.

Prince El Hassan also discussed issues in the Palestinian territories, particularly the E1 settlement scheme and its effects on geographic contiguity, advocating for a rights-based approach to achieving peace. He mentioned conditions in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and the consequences of the Gaza conflict, while stressing the importance of job creation and economic security in Jordan.

He highlighted the significance of the multidimensional poverty index to identify deprivation in education, health, employment, and services, and the role of human dignity in policy-making. Addressing artificial intelligence, the Hashemite Custodianship over holy sites in Jerusalem, and water challenges, he underscored the need for critical thinking among youth and viewing regional challenges as interconnected.
