Prince Mired Celebrates Graduation of First Entrepreneurship Cohort for Injured Servicemen

Amman:Fourteen injured servicemen and their family members graduated from the inaugural cohort of a nine-month entrepreneurship program on Wednesday. This initiative was designed to help participants develop business ideas and prepare viable projects.

According to Jordan News Agency, HRH Prince Mired bin Raad, Chief Chamberlain and Chairman of the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS), was present at the graduation ceremony. The program was conducted in partnership with HCDS, AMIDEAST Jordan, and Boeing. It provided participants from Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, and Ajloun with training in business establishment and management, digital skills, digital marketing, and the use of social media for customer and market outreach.

The initiative also offered psychosocial support, business mentoring, and networking opportunities with Jordanian companies, entrepreneurs, and startups. Additionally, guidance on business models, financing options, and market access was provided.

During the ceremony, Prince Mired emphasized HCDS's commitment to continuing economic empowerment and vocational rehabilitation programs for injured servicemen and their families, focusing on training and sustainable employment and business opportunities.

Boeing Vice President for the Middle East Gulf and North Africa, Fahad Al Mheiri, noted that the program aimed to help participants leverage their skills and experience to build sustainable businesses. Nour Al Rasheed, AMIDEAST Jordan Country Director, highlighted the combination of training, practical mentoring, and networking to assist participants in transitioning from idea development to the creation of implementable business plans.

Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (Joramco) provided specialized business-management mentoring and training sessions, along with laptops and support for the practical development of projects.

This entrepreneurship program builds on previous collaborations between HCDS, AMIDEAST Jordan, and Boeing in training and employment initiatives for injured servicemen, including those in the tourism and aviation sectors. A new cohort of injured servicemen and their family members is scheduled to participate in the program in 2027.
