Brussels:Princess Dina Mired, patron of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), joined Queen Letizia of Spain, the Honorary President of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), at the 10th anniversary of World Cancer Research Day.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event, themed "Advancing Together in Cancer Research," was organized by the AECC in cooperation with the EORTC at its headquarters in Brussels. The gathering included prominent figures from cancer research, clinical care, patient advocacy, and policymaking, marking a decade of World Cancer Research Day.
In her keynote speech, Princess Dina emphasized the critical role of cancer research as an essential component of cancer care, stating that it should not be viewed as a luxury but as an integral part of cancer treatment and prevention. She highlighted the importance of sustained focus on research to improve treatments, increase survival rates, and enhance patients' quality of life.
She also stressed the significance of international cooperation to ensure that advancements in cancer research benefit patients globally. The event was also attended by Jordan's Ambassador to Brussels, Yousef Batayneh.
