Princess Muna Joins 30th International Council of Nurses Conference

Amman: WHO Patron for Nursing and Midwifery for the Eastern Mediterranean Region Princess Muna Al Hussein participated in the 30th International Council of Nurses (ICN) Conference held under the theme "The Power of Nurses to Transform the World." Princess Muna urged investing in nursing, enhancing nurses' leadership roles, and actively participating in health policy-making. She highlighted that nurses are "powerful agents of change."

According to Jordan News Agency, addressing the nursing community, she stated, "You carry the power to change the world and the world needs you now more than ever," adding that nurses contribute to improving population health, reducing healthcare costs, stimulating economic growth, and promoting sustainable development through comprehensive health systems that serve future generations.

Princess Muna noted that this is an era of nursing empowerment, where the true value of nursing extends beyond clinical excellence to leading change, fostering innovation, and connecting communities. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including nursing education, technology, artificial intelligence in healthcare, human resources in nursing, migration, scientific research, and advanced nursing practices.

The event concluded with a call to support nursing globally both economically and professionally and to strengthen nursing unions, councils, and associations to enable meaningful change. Over 7,000 participants from more than 120 countries attended the conference, which featured numerous sessions and discussions.

The gathering was attended by the Princess's Advisor for Health and Community Development, Dr. Ruwaida Maaytah; the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council, Dr. Hani Al-Nawafleh; the President of the Jordan Nurses Association and accompanying delegation; nursing staff from the Royal Medical Services; the Director of Nursing at King Hussein Cancer Hospital; and the Dean of Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology.

Princess Muna is a WHO Ambassador for Nursing and Midwifery, a Global Ambassador for the ICN, an Honourary Global Ambassador for Alzheimer's Disease International, and President of the Jordanian Nursing Council.
