The Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Tuesday received heads of police delegations participating in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2022.

At the headquarters of the SOFEX conference, Maaytah met with police delegations from the New York, German, French, Italian and Turkish police, as well as police delegations from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Palestine and the Palestinian Civil Defense.

The PSD director welcomed the delegations and thanked them for accepting the PSD’s invitation and for participating in this global event hosted by the southern city of Aqaba.

In the meeting, Maaytah underlined the PSD’s openness to work in a participatory approach to enhance security and peace in the region and the world, reflecting royal directives and the constant endeavor to open up to the police apparatuses in those countries.

The PSD is also keen on benefiting from the exchange of expertise and experiences with them in various fields of police work, especially in the training, technical and technology fields, the PSD chief added.

“Global conditions and development of crimes oblige us to work together to confront them, especially emerging and cross-border crimes and drug trafficking,” Maaytah noted.

For their part, heads of delegations stressed the importance of participating in the SOFEX 2022 conference, which allowed them to examine other countries’ expertise in security and training fields.

They said they are looking forward to consolidate further cooperation with the PSD, build on the history of cooperation and open a broader horizon in various areas of police and security work.
