PSD Director, EU Ambassador Discuss Security Partnership

Amman: Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Major General Obaidallah Maaytah met on Monday with European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, to discuss ways to enhance a strategic partnership between the PSD and the EU.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, Maaytah emphasized the PSD's commitment to advancing cooperation with the EU, which has led to the implementation of several impactful projects aligned with international standards. He acknowledged the EU's ongoing support in various security, humanitarian, and community domains.

Maaytah underscored the necessity of leveraging regional and international efforts, along with top security expertise, to tackle emerging and cross-border crimes, fortify criminal justice, and deliver excellent services to all societal segments.

Chatzisavas, for his part, praised the PSD's high security standards and its ability to adapt to evolving security challenges and community requirements. He reaffirmed the EU's dedication to providing comprehensive support to enable the PSD to continue its essential role in fostering security and societal stability.
