PSD to Crackdown on Vehicle Processions

Amman: The Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Monday that celebratory vehicle processions are a public security threat and that it will further crackdown on such violations. "Processions with people outside car windows are a clear violation punishable by law, as they disrupt traffic and pose a serious public safety risk," the PSD said in a statement.

According to Jordan News Agency, the PSD announced plans to intensify a campaign to apprehend violators and take legal action against them, emphasizing the importance of traffic safety as a "shared responsibility based on cooperation, commitment and respect of others using the road."

The statement further highlighted that celebrations can occur in "a civilized and safe way in which to protect lives and give a positive image through sound preventative behaviors."
