Amman: Jordan, Trkiye, and Syria have initiated trilateral talks aimed at supporting Syria's reconstruction and enhancing regional stability. Ayman Safadi, Jordan's Foreign Minister, emphasized the dual nature of Syria's current situation, acknowledging both the serious challenges it faces and the significant opportunities available for its development and the welfare of its people.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi highlighted external threats, particularly from Israeli actions, as the primary obstacles to Syria's security and stability. He criticized Israel's aggression and interference in Syrian affairs, asserting that such actions exacerbate divisions and instability within the country. Safadi stressed Jordan's firm opposition to these actions and its efforts to raise international awareness about their detrimental impact.
Safadi outlined a vision of a safe and stable Syria, emphasizing its potential to provide a dignified life for its citizens after years of conflict. He called for the international community to adopt a strong stance against threats, including Israeli aggression and extremist ideologies, to seize this historic opportunity for Syria. Jordan is actively coordinating with Trkiye, Arab states, and global partners to support Syria's sovereignty and unity, aiming for a peaceful and stable region free from external interference.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister underscored the strategic importance of stability in southern Syria, which shares a border with Jordan. Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to working with regional and international partners to end Israeli aggression and respect Syrian sovereignty, facilitating Syria's reconstruction and sustained stability. He reiterated Jordan's dedication to these efforts until Israel ceases its actions in Syrian territories.
In addition to the Syrian issue, Safadi addressed the Palestinian situation, particularly in Gaza. He condemned Israel's actions and called for an end to the aggression. Safadi urged the international community to speak out against the deprivation faced by Palestinians, labeling it a violation of international law that must be addressed.
