The Ministry of Public Works and Housing on Sunday started spreading salt on roads that are expected to freeze, in order to prevent slips or closures
The ministry warned external road users of the slippery roads and low horizontal visibility due to fog formation and heavy rainfall, as a result of the prevailing weather conditions in most regions of the Kingdom, especially in the south, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry said that all roads within its jurisdiction are open and passable.
It indicated that some roads in the south witnessed a light snowfall this evening, noting that their cadres and machines immediately worked to remove the snow, to prevent any closures.
The ministry added that its cadres, equipped with the required equipment, are fully prepared to deal with all weather conditions and to address the comments received to 24/7 through its 98 teams distributed over the various governorates of the Kingdom.
