Doha:A Qatari liquefied natural gas carrier was struck by "unidentified objects" while navigating through Gulf waters on Friday evening, as announced by Qatar Gas Transport Company on Sunday.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the company, known as Nakilat, identified its vessel Al Mayeda as the one involved in the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the crew members, and there was no environmental damage resulting from the incident.
Nakilat confirmed that the vessel remained safe and operational after the occurrence. The company stated it is evaluating the impact of the incident and is maintaining communication with relevant maritime security authorities in the region.
The company added that it is "continuing to closely monitor the situation."
