Amman: Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with members of the Business and Professional Women Association (BPWA) for a discussion on initiatives to empower women economically. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting took place at Jasmine House in Jabal Al-Weibdeh and was attended by BPWA's Board of Directors, including CEO and Founding Member Thanaa Khasawneh. Khasawneh explained that BPWA provides services and training to women to utilize their potential to drive broader economic growth. Amal Daghlas, President of BPWA's Board of Directors, outlined BPWA's initiatives aimed at enhancing women's roles as business owners and workforce members. This includes the WExport Unit, launched in 2019, which assists women in improving their products' export readiness and equips them with tools to access global markets. BPWA also offers the StandOut project, providing women across Jordan with specialized training in entrepreneurial skills. The association coordinates Jordan's Gender Parity Accelerator, which seeks to redefine societal norms, increase women's economic participation, and open career opportunities in non-traditional fields. Queen Rania participated in an export-focused workshop with female professionals and business owners, exploring ways to enhance their projects' global competitiveness. She listened to BPWA members' experiences with the training opportunities offered by the association and its local partners. The Queen visited Bunni Coffee Roastery and Academy, a beneficiary of BPWA's WExport Unit, where co-founders Shireen Muheisen Iynes and James Iynes demonstrated their coffee-making process and discussed their non-profit vocational training program for young Jordanians in the food and beverage industry.
