Recent Rainfalls Boost Seasonal Averages in Jordan by Up to 6%

Amman: Unstable weather conditions and sporadic showers were observed throughout the Kingdom yesterday. During the evening and night, there were occasionally intense rainstorms with hail and thunder. The eastern and southeast portions of the Kingdom, along with a few central-western areas, saw the most of these rains. Between 1 percent and 6 percent of the total seasonal average in these areas was improved during the rainy season as a result of this.

Notably, 7.8 mm, or 6 percent of the seasonal average, was recorded at the Zarqa observation station, and 6.2 mm, or 4 percent, was recorded at the Mafraq observation station.

The department’s statement also highlighted that the Safawi station near Mafraq recorded 2.6 mm of rainfall, or 4 percent of the seasonal average, while the Amman Civil Airport station recorded 6.2 mm, or 3 percent. In the southeast, 1.2 mm, or 4 percent, was recorded at the Jafr station in the Ma’an Governorate, and 1.5 mm, or 1 percent, was recorded at the Ramtha station in the Irbid Governorate.
