Balqa: Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Thursday visited various Royal Initiative projects in the Balqa and Irbid governorates to evaluate progress and the quality of services offered at fully operational facilities.
According to Jordan News Agency, Issawi, who also chairs the committee responsible for implementing Royal Initiatives, emphasized that these field visits align with His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives to ensure that development and service projects are executed and maintained according to high standards.
In Balqa, Issawi examined the rehabilitation and development project of Mahis Park, which is nearing completion at 95 percent. This 3,442-square-meter development includes a renovated library, children's play areas, a multipurpose sports court, seating arrangements, walkways, and public facilities.
He also assessed the ISO City company project in Fuheis, which is 99 percent complete. This 4,000-square-meter facility is poised to generate approximately 220 jobs in fields such as software, computer and information services, electronics, and artificial intelligence. The initiative is part of the Productive Branches Initiative, aimed at creating local job opportunities for Jordanians to reduce commuting expenses. Issawi noted that this effort aligns with the Royal vision of providing specialized employment opportunities for young people through private sector partnerships.
While in Salt, Issawi reviewed the ongoing work at the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Sports Complex, which is being transformed into a sports city. The project is currently 88 percent complete and includes upgrades to existing buildings, stands, public spaces, drainage systems, and other facilities to support sports, youth, and community activities.
In Irbid, Issawi visited the Zaha Cultural Center, which officially opened on April 27, 2024. The center offers educational, cultural, sports, and vocational programs for children and young people, covering a wide range of subjects such as computer skills, robotics, creative thinking, English, art, Arabic calligraphy, self-defense, and training programs for local women.
Issawi also inspected the Masharea Comprehensive Center for Special Education, established under the Royal Initiatives following a Royal visit to the area in 2019. The center is designed to serve approximately 100 beneficiaries, providing early disability diagnosis, education, rehabilitation, and behavioral services.
Concluding his tour, Issawi evaluated the maintenance efforts at the Dhat Al-Nitaqayn Women's Charitable Society building in Deir Alla. These efforts aim to bolster the society's role in social and developmental services for local families.
Issawi highlighted that Royal Initiatives embody a sustainable development approach, focusing on enhancing services, creating jobs, empowering young people, women, and persons with disabilities, and promoting comprehensive development throughout the Kingdom.
