Amman: A Royal decree has been issued, summoning Parliament to convene for an extraordinary session, starting 12 July 2026, to debate the following draft laws: Draft Local Administration Law of 2026, Draft Amended Jordanian Universities Law of 2026, Draft Amended Real Estate Ownership Law of 2026, Draft Law to Repeal the Civil Consumer Corporation Law of 2026, Draft Professional Work Regulation Law of 2026, Draft Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission Law of 2026.
According to Jordan News Agency, the extraordinary session is set to address significant legislative changes, focusing on key areas such as local administration, education, real estate, consumer protection, professional work regulations, and accreditation standards. The Draft Local Administration Law aims to enhance governance and operational efficiency at the municipal level. Meanwhile, the Draft Amended Jordanian Universities Law seeks to introduce reforms in higher education governance.
The Draft Amended Real Estate Ownership Law is expected to address ownership rights and streamline procedures related to property transactions. In addition, the Draft Law to Repeal the Civil Consumer Corporation Law is anticipated to impact consumer rights and corporate operations. Lastly, the Draft Professional Work Regulation Law and the Draft Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission Law are designed to set new standards for professional practices and ensure quality assurance across various sectors.
