Senate Committee Discusses Expanded Cooperation During Saudi Arabia Visit

Riyadh: The Jordanian-Saudi Brotherhood Committee in the Senate, led by Senator Jamal Sarairah, engaged in a series of meetings with senior officials from the Saudi government and the Shura Council during an official visit to Saudi Arabia. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation and institutional coordination across various sectors.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Deputy Minister of Interior, to discuss a range of issues of mutual concern, highlighting a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. Sarairah emphasized the strategic importance of the ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, expressing the intent to foster economic integration and promote joint investments for the benefit of both nations.

At the parliamentary level, the delegation held discussions with Shura Council Vice President Mishaal Sulami, who underscored the critical role of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries. An expanded session was also convened between the Saudi-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, chaired by Ibrahim Qannas, and the Jordanian-Saudi Brotherhood Committee. This meeting focused on structured coordination and consultation between the legislative bodies, aiming to facilitate the exchange of expertise and bolster parliamentary integration.

In the context of sectoral cooperation, the committee met with Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs Nasser Qahtani to explore opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector. Qahtani emphasized the significance of deepening the partnership in energy-related fields and acknowledged the current level of coordination, noting the potential for expanding collaboration in this strategic area.
