Amman: The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Agency (AFAD) Monday announced that a new quake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale had hit Hatay in southern Turkey.

According to the Anadolu Agency, the agency reported, through its account on the Internet, that the quake epicentre was the “Dafna” district in the state. It occurred at exactly 20:04 local time.

According to the Jordan News Agency correspondent in Beirut, the extent of the quake reached Lebanon. The Lebanese felt the quake in many areas, prompting hundreds of residents to leave their homes.
