Amman: Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa and her Palestinian counterpart Samah Hamad engaged in discussions on Wednesday regarding joint coordination on delivering relief aid to the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The meeting aimed to enhance collaborative efforts to support these regions in need.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was attended by Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization Secretary-General Hussein Shibli (JHCO). During the discussions, Mustafa reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for the people in the Gaza Strip, highlighting His Majesty King Abdullah's dedication to alleviating Palestinian suffering and preventing forced displacement.
Mustafa highlighted His Majesty's address at the 2025 World Disability Summit in Berlin, emphasizing the Kingdom's commitment to the rights of persons with disabilities. She noted the "Restore Hope" initiative for amputees in the Gaza Strip, which has already benefited over 400 individuals, including children, and aims to reach 16,000 more.
She further praised the crucial role of JHCO in managing aid deliveries to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, working in collaboration with official bodies. The Palestinian minister expressed gratitude for Jordan's efforts in delivering aid through the Royal Medical Services and the JHCO, stressing the importance of close coordination due to the increasing demand for aid in these areas.
Shibli assured that JHCO is persistently pursuing relief efforts in direct collaboration with international partners, focusing on its humanitarian responsibilities towards the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He underscored the significance of the "Restore Hope" initiative, which aims to provide prosthetic limbs to as many people as possible.
