Amman: The Social Security Corporation has confirmed that it will continue to disburse pensions to all retirees over the age of 80 without any interruption, as stated in the Corporation's recent announcement.
According to Jordan News Agency, Corporation spokesperson Shaman Majali revealed plans for a new digital platform to register births and deaths, a project spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Health Ministry and the Civil Status and Passports Department. This initiative is designed to modernize and streamline government procedures by electronically linking government, private, and military hospitals to a unified system for recording birth and death data.
Majali highlighted that this platform will address issues related to delayed or unreported deaths, providing the Social Security Corporation and other relevant authorities with accurate and timely data. This advancement is expected to enhance the efficiency and precision of transactions concerning subscribers and their beneficiaries.
The platform will also offer integrated services, including a "birth package" that encompasses birth notification, issuance of a birth certificate, and updates to the family book. Currently, the system is being piloted in 17 hospitals across various sectors, with plans for expansion to all 120 hospitals in Jordan by the end of October. Full electronic integration with the Civil Status and Passports Department is anticipated.
Efforts are also in progress to work with municipalities to incorporate burial permit registration into the platform.
