South Korean Embassy in Jordan Hosts Gathering for Alumni of Korean Programs

Amman:The South Korean Embassy in Jordan, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), organized a 2026 event for graduates of Korean programs in Jordan. This gathering brought together over 130 participants from KOICA training programs and the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS).

According to Jordan News Agency, South Korean Ambassador to Jordan Kim Pil-woo emphasized in his opening remarks that prosperity is derived from human potential. He highlighted that the assembly of skilled professionals is a testament to the successful educational partnership and joint investment between South Korea and Jordan.

Jordanian government officials who took part in KOICA training programs shared the knowledge and expertise acquired through specialized courses tailored to their professional fields. KOICA had organized two training programs for Jordanian officials in 2026, aimed at enhancing their expertise, developing professional skills, and contributing to national development.

GKS graduates recounted their academic experiences in South Korea, stressing the significance of cultural exchange, academic enrichment, and international educational cooperation. The embassy pointed out that KOICA has been offering training opportunities in Jordan since 1991 through its Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) initiative, which focuses on human resource development to support sustainable social and economic growth.

Since 1967, the South Korean government has also provided scholarships for international students through the GKS program, allowing them to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies at South Korean universities. The program aims to foster international educational exchange and strengthen friendship ties between South Korea and participating countries.
