Most regions of the Kingdom are expected to bask in temperatures between 28C to 33C on Monday, bringing summerlike weather conditions to the highlands, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Meanwhile, sustained sunny spells will prevail in the plains and blistering conditions will influence in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate winds to brisk, the JMD added.

In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of direct exposure to sunlight at noon.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather department predicted a new heatwave to envelop much of the country, bringing mercury to above seasonal average.

The temperatures in Amman today will see a high of 33 degrees Celsius during the day and a low of 21C at night. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 39C and a low of 27C.
