Tafila: Tafila Technical University (TTU) has made a milestone in global rankings, achieving an advanced position in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2025 for Sustainable Development.
According to Jordan News Agency, TTU ranked 801-1000 globally after previously garnering a 1001-1500 ranking in the 2024 category. This marks an indication of the development in the university's institutional performance and its progress in achieving sustainable development goals.
In a statement, TTU President Dr. Bassam Mahasneh highlighted the university's progress in several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), achieving scores in quality education, use of clean energy, SDGs partnerships, and community contribution. This achievement, he noted, culminates the university's efforts at various levels, maintaining its commitment to academic excellence and enhancing its societal impact, aligned with the Kingdom's vision for comprehensive modernization.
Director of TTU Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Abdullah Awwad, emphasized that this step reflects the quality of the university's policies and initiatives, pushing efforts to achieve further excellence in future rankings. Awwad noted that this global impact ranking assesses the performance of universities based on their commitment to achieving the United Nations SDGs, using accurate and objective indicators for education, research, community service, and environmental sustainability areas.
