Amman: Minister of Transport, Wissam Tahtamouni, recently assessed the progress of expansion and development projects at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) during a meeting with Chairman of Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Haitham Misto, and CEO of Airport International Group, Nicolas Devillier.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions focused on aspects of joint cooperation and strategies to enhance coordination among various stakeholders. This collaboration aims to bolster Jordan's position as a significant regional hub in the air transport sector.
In his remarks, Tahtamouni emphasized the importance of building on the existing partnership between CARC and Airport International Group. He highlighted the necessity of continued coordination and teamwork to ensure the successful progress of QAIA's expansion and development projects, adhering to top standards to meet future demands.
Tahtamouni reiterated the ministry's commitment to providing comprehensive support and facilitation for these crucial projects, acknowledging QAIA's role as Jordan's main gateway to the world. He noted the airport's significance in driving economic growth and enhancing regional and international air connectivity.
The meeting also underscored the urgency of completing the airport's expansion, which includes several projects aimed at boosting QAIA's readiness and improving passenger services, as indicated in the ministry's statement.
