Amman: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab met with Hameed Batayneh, president of the Jordan Forum for Policy Dialogue, alongside members of the forum's general assembly and board, to discuss strategies for enhancing tourism policy in Jordan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on the outcomes of the National Tourism Conference, which was organized by the forum on June 14, 2025, with the theme "Green Jordan Innovation for Sustainability Developing Tourism as an Economic Lever." Minister Annab emphasized Jordan's stability and safety amidst regional challenges and highlighted the country's tourism offerings as competitive within the region. She emphasized the need to promote these aspects to both local and international tourists.

Minister Annab elaborated on the ongoing efforts to attract new markets and diverse visitor segments during the summer season, specifically targeting Arab and Gulf tourists as well as Jordanians residing overseas. She also unveiled a comprehensive tourism marketing plan devised by the Jordan Tourism Board, which aligns with the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This plan aims to open new markets and increase global awareness of Jordan's tourism resources.

The minister underscored the ongoing initiatives to enhance tourism-related technology, such as virtual site tours, film tourism development, and improvements to visitor center infrastructure. Batayneh expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Tourism and the Jordan Tourism Board's support, which was crucial to the success of the recent conference. He highlighted the productive collaboration among stakeholders dedicated to revitalizing the tourism sector.

Concluding the meeting, Batayneh presented the forum's conference recommendations to Minister Annab and awarded her a commemorative shield to acknowledge her continued support for Jordan's national tourism sector.
