Run Jordan on Monday unveiled a traffic plan, including road closures and traffic diversions, ahead of the Amman International Marathon, which kicks off Friday.
The annual Amman Marathon, which this year is organized by Aquafina, is the largest of Run Jordan’s large-scale running events attracting participants from the Kingdom and around the world.
The starting lines for the races begin near the headquarters of the Greater Amman Municipality and end close to the Roman Amphitheatre in downtown Amman.
The traffic plan aims to ensure the success of the race’s activities, which draws runners of various age groups as it aims to promote healthy lifestyles and teamwork, according to a press release.
It said that traffic police will be on hand to guide the public on alternative routes to avoid disruptions.
