Amman: Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, engaged in discussions with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Hamad bin Rashid Al-Marri, focusing on enhancing cooperation in the transport sector. The meeting, conducted at the ministry's headquarters, explored avenues to bolster bilateral collaboration across various transport fields, particularly emphasizing the exchange of expertise and training in land, maritime, and air transport, as well as meteorology. This collaboration aims to leverage the skills of air academies, maritime education centers, and the Meteorology Training Center.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Qatamin highlighted the importance of building on the strong bilateral relations between Jordan and Kuwait by deepening technical and institutional cooperation in the transport sectors. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to developing partnerships with Kuwait, recognizing its expertise in infrastructure and logistics.
The Kuwaiti ambassador praised the progress in Jordan's transport sector, describing the Jordanian-Kuwaiti relationship as a model for pan-Arab cooperation. He expressed Kuwait's interest in expanding areas of cooperation, sharing expertise, and streamlining land and maritime transport procedures between the two nations.
Jordan and Kuwait have established agreements in land, air, and maritime transport, along with a memorandum of understanding in meteorology. Additionally, the fifth session of the Jordanian-Kuwaiti Joint Higher Committee, held in Kuwait last July, reaffirmed the commitment to implementing joint agreements across all sectors.
