Trkiye, Pakistan to Strengthen Joint Efforts Against Israel’s Gaza Policy, Says Erdogan

Tianjin: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday emphasized that Trkiye and Pakistan will continue to collaborate against Israel's policies in Gaza, which he described as genocidal. During a meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Tianjin, China, Erdogan asserted that Trkiye aligns with Pakistan in opposing Israel's actions in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate on the social media platform NSosyal conveyed Erdogan's commitment to working with Pakistan to counter Israel's policies. "President Erdogan emphasized that Israel sought to expand its policy of genocide in Gaza, underlined that Trkiye stood on the same line with Pakistan against this genocide, and stated that the two countries would continue to work in coordination," the statement read.

The dialogue between Erdogan and Sharif also included discussions on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional and global concerns. Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the growing rapport between Pakistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), appreciating the solidarity shown in this development.

Trkiye and Pakistan aim to bolster cooperation across various sectors, notably trade, energy, defense, and security. Erdogan further highlighted the critical importance of Syria's unity and territorial integrity to Trkiye, stating Ankara's opposition to any efforts that might destabilize Syria.

In addition, Erdogan extended condolences to Pakistan for the losses due to recent floods, affirming Trkiye's support during this challenging time. A statement from Islamabad echoed the sentiment, underscoring the enduring ties between the two nations and their shared goals for peace, stability, and prosperity beyond their borders.

Both leaders are attending the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjin, indicating a continued commitment to international collaboration.
