Istanbul: Trkiye's crude steel production rose to 3.3 million tons in November, marking a 10% increase compared to the same month last year, the Turkish Steel Producers Association stated on Wednesday.
According to Anadolu Agency, steel production between January and November also experienced a rise, increasing by 2% to a total of 34.6 million tons. Meanwhile, finished product consumption in November reached 3.7 million tons, reflecting a 0.5% increase compared to November 2024.
In the broader January-November timeframe, finished product consumption saw a 2.4% increase, totaling 35.9 million tons. The export of steel products in November surged by 22.2% in volume compared to the same month of 2024, reaching 1.2 million tons, and by 9.8% in value, amounting to $774.8 million.
For the January-November period, steel product exports rose by 13.3% in volume to 13.7 million tons and by 4.5% in value to $9.3 billion. The export-to-import ratio improved from 74.1% last year to 76.8% this year during the same period.
