Ankara: Trkiyes Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has expressed concern over Israel's attacks that targeted southern Syria and the capital Damascus in a phone call with his Syrian counterpart Asaad Hassan al Shaibani, Turkish diplomatic sources said. Fidan emphasized that Israel's actions are a cause for concern and stressed the need for interventions threatening regional security and efforts to establish stability in Syria to end immediately.

According to TRTworld.com, Fidan also communicated with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi. The discussions come in the wake of Israel launching air strikes on Damascus, targeting Syria's Defence Ministry and areas near the presidential palace. These strikes coincided with Israel resuming attacks in southern Syria's Suwayda province, where they warned of continued military actions unless Syrian forces withdraw.

The Syrian army had deployed troops to the region to restore order following clashes between armed Druze and Bedouin groups, which resulted in at least 30 fatalities. The Israeli army claims that their military actions aim to protect the Druze minority in the area.
