Ankara: Turkish defense giant Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has announced a significant achievement for its subsidiary, TUSAS Engine Industries (TEI), which has secured a $2.95 billion order in high value-added engine production technologies. This milestone was revealed by Trkiye's defense industries secretary, highlighting a major accomplishment for the company.
According to Anadolu Agency, Haluk Gorgun, writing on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, emphasized that the order marks TEI's first major export success of 2026. He stated that the contract from abroad is a strong testament to Trkiye's standing as one of the world's leading centers in high value-added engine production technologies.
The substantial order includes parts and maintenance/repair services for 22 different engine programs that are integral to global civil and military aviation. Deliveries for these components are scheduled to commence in 2026, as noted by Gorgun.
With this latest order, TEI's total order volume has reached $8.2 billion. Gorgun highlighted this as a clear indication of the company's high engineering competence, production discipline, and globally recognized reliability in aviation engines.
Gorgun also credited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's comprehensive approach to treating the defense and aviation industries as a cohesive ecosystem. This strategy, supported by long-term policies and robust support mechanisms, has enabled the sector to become a technology-producing entity with a significant voice in global competition, achieving sustainable growth.
