Paris: Baykar, a leading Turkish defense firm, is poised to showcase its locally produced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the International Paris Air Show, recognized as one of the world's largest aviation events.

According to Anadolu Agency, the event marks its 55th iteration and will be held at Paris-Le Bourget Airport from June 16 to 22. It will bring together leaders in aviation and space to highlight innovative technologies. Baykar, noted as one of the world's largest UAV exporters, will collaborate with Italian defense giant Leonardo SpA to have their "international launch" at this prominent event.

The collaboration between Leonardo and Baykar, described as a strong synergy with advanced payloads, electronics, sensors, cameras, and technologies, aims to leverage Baykar's fabrication of advanced drones with varying sizes and payloads. Cingolani emphasized the asset value of this joint venture. Bayraktar echoed this sentiment, highlighting the perfect alliance formed by Baykar's UCAV technologies and Leonardo's European experience.

This marks the first time Baykar's homegrown UAVs will be displayed in Paris, including the Bayraktar Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), the Bayraktar TB3 UAV, and the Kemankes 1 Mini Intelligent Cruise Missile. The Bayraktar Akinci is known for its high payload capacity and long-range mission capabilities, while the Bayraktar TB3 is recognized as the world's first UAV capable of taking off from and landing on short-runway ships. The Kemankes 1, an AI-powered high-precision missile, features an operational range exceeding 200 kilometers.

Baykar has already signed export deals with 35 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and with 15 countries for the Bayraktar Akinci UCAV, showcasing its significant global reach and impact in the defense sector.
