Amman: UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy issued a direct appeal to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him to lift the blockade on Gaza and allow humanitarian aid into the starved enclave. Speaking before the British Parliament on Tuesday, Lammy emphasised that ongoing military operations are damaging Israel's international relations. He announced the suspension of negotiations for a free trade agreement with Israel and ordered the recall of the Israeli ambassador to London.
According to Jordan News Agency, the British Foreign Secretary warned that the UK government would consider further measures against Israel if humanitarian aid is not permitted to reach Gaza.
