Gaza: The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Muhannad Hadi, has strongly condemned Israel over the fatalities of humanitarian workers in Gaza, describing the incidents as unacceptable violations of international law that worsen the already severe humanitarian crisis. According to Jordan News Agency, Hadi reported the deaths of four humanitarian workers in Gaza resulting from Israeli airstrikes. Three of those killed were staff members of the World Central Kitchen whose vehicle was hit at a distribution site in Khan Yunis. The fourth victim was a staff member of Save the Children, who perished in the same airstrike. Hadi pointed out that since October 2023, over 330 humanitarian workers have lost their lives in Gaza, highlighting the severe risks faced by those who are working to alleviate suffering in what is considered one of the most critical crises worldwide. He emphasized that these humanitarian workers are the last lifeline for over two million Palestinians who are livi ng under dire conditions, lacking adequate food, water, sanitation, shelter, healthcare, and education, while constantly living with the threat of violence. Hadi asserted that the work of these humanitarian workers is not only crucial but vital, and called for their safe, unhindered, and sustainable access to all those in need. He made an urgent appeal for accountability and an immediate ceasefire to halt the ongoing suffering.
