UN: Israel Still Blocking Entry of Vital Equipment Into Gaza

United nations: Israel is continuing to obstruct the entry of essential equipment into the Gaza Strip, including items crucial for the provision of basic energy, according to United Nations spokesperson Stephane Dujarric. This was announced during a daily press briefing on Tuesday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the UN and its humanitarian partners have successfully completed the delivery of security communications equipment to Gaza. This equipment had been awaiting Israeli approval since August 2024. The delay in approval has been a significant concern for those involved in humanitarian efforts in the region.

Dujarric highlighted the unsuitability of relying solely on tents for shelter in Gaza, emphasizing that they offer only temporary protection. He called for a transition toward more sustainable housing solutions, such as repairing damaged homes. He also pointed out that the available land for relocation to flood-resistant areas is insufficient. Humanitarian partners estimate that over one million people in Gaza are in urgent need of shelter assistance.
