UN Warns of Life-Threatening Fuel Shortage in Gaza

Amman: The United Nations warned on Wednesday that rapidly dwindling fuel supplies in Gaza are threatening efforts to sustain life-saving humanitarian operations in the besieged enclave. UN spokesperson St©phane Dujarric said Israeli authorities continue to restrict the entry of fuel into Gaza, effectively choking vital services for the deprived and hungry population.

According to Jordan News Agency, Dujarric emphasized the critical nature of fuel for Gaza, describing it as a "matter of life or death." The shortage comes amidst ongoing Israeli bombardment, which continues to have devastating impacts on civilians. Many of those killed or injured in recent attacks were reportedly seeking humanitarian assistance at the time.

Dujarric urged Israeli authorities to urgently permit the entry of significantly larger quantities of aid supplies. These include essential items such as food, cooking gas, fuel, and shelter materials, all needed to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
