The European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Saturday called for strengthening the mandate of the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL). In remarks following a meeting of G7 defense ministers in Naples, Italy, Borrell said: "U.N. forces have to be respected all over the world." He added: "Maybe the mission of UNIFIL has to be reviewed, but the first thing to do is a ceasefire." "It would be up to the United Nations' Security Council to make decisions on UNIFIL," Borrell concluded. Source: Jordan News Agency
