Irbid: Wastewater Authority Projects Director Madin Al-Rababah confirmed Tuesday that work on the wastewater network project in the areas of Kufr Yuba and Soom will commence in mid-September, following the completion of necessary coordination and arrangements among relevant authorities.
According to Jordan News Agency, the announcement came during a meeting held Tuesday by Mohammad Ali Al-Qudah, head of the West Irbid Municipality Committee, with Al-Rababah; the project's contractor, Yousef Al-Tarawneh of Ahmad Yousef Al-Tarawneh and Partner Contracting Company; and Mohammad Al-Harsh, representing the supervising consultancy firm Engicon, along with several engineers following a field tour of project sites.
Al-Qudah emphasized the importance of establishing a clear operational plan detailing work phases, execution sites, sequencing, and timelines for each stage. He also called for a structured mechanism to handle main roads and congested neighborhoods to complete works on schedule while minimizing disruption to residents.
He highlighted the necessity of limiting excavation distances, completing works, backfilling, and resurfacing progressively while adhering to approved technical specifications.
Al-Tarawneh affirmed the contracting firm's readiness to execute the project in phased stages, ensuring that specified sites are completed and backfilled according to technical standards before moving on to new locations.
Al-Qudah noted that prior and continuous coordination among the municipality, the Water Authority, the contractor, and the consultant remains a critical factor for the project's success, particularly regarding traffic flow, pedestrian movement, and street rehabilitation.
Al-Qudah commended the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Water Authority for implementing the project, which aims to address environmental and health issues in Kufr Yuba and Soom and curb open wastewater hazards affecting local residents.
