Water Authority Initiates Training for Government Liaison Officers on New Electronic Private Well Card

Amman: The Water Authority held a specialized training workshop for liaison officers from several government entities to support the implementation of the electronic Private Well Card service.

According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop was held with support from the U.S. Government-funded Water Sector Governance Project and brought together representatives from the ministries of Agriculture and Labour, the Department of Lands and Survey, the Agricultural Credit Corporation and water companies.

The workshop aimed to activate the electronic Private Well Card service in line with the 2024 Cabinet decisions and the Water Sector Information Technology Roadmap 2025-2030. Participants received training on the procedures for issuing and activating the electronic card, as well as their roles in processing applications and providing the system with the required data.

The Water Authority said the electronic Private Well Card is being introduced pursuant to Article 44 of the Groundwater Monitoring Regulation No. 85 of 2002 and its amendments. The authority added that the system is intended to enhance oversight of private wells, organize related data and facilitate the electronic monitoring and updating of records.
