Water Ministry Dismantles Illegal Water Connections South of Amman

Amman:The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has dismantled four illegal water connections on a major pipeline south of Amman.

According to Jordan News Agency, inspectors from the ministry discovered the illegal taps in the regions of Al Muwaqqar and Al Shoumariyya. The illegal lines, consisting of three 1-inch and one 2-inch pipes, were siphoning water from a 300 mm main pipeline into unauthorized water tankers.

The ministry's crews have disconnected these illegal connections, restored the pipeline to its original state, and filed formal reports on the violations.

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation emphasized its commitment to fighting water theft to protect the nation's water resources and public supply networks. This operation was executed in collaboration with the Water Authority of Jordan's internal control unit, Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna), the Ministry of Interior, and the Muwaqqar Badia Police Center.
