Amman: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said Monday that civilians in the Gaza Strip are enduring severe levels of hunger and food insecurity. In a post on its X account, WFP stated it has the supplies, personnel, and readiness to scale up its operations and reach those in need. However, it said Israeli-imposed restrictions and logistical obstacles have made such efforts nearly impossible.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agency stressed that a ceasefire in Gaza would create the necessary conditions for the safe and large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid, noting that vast quantities of assistance remain stuck at the border awaiting entry.
