Gaza city: The World Food Program (WFP) said Tuesday that food supplies entering the Gaza Strip are limited and sufficient for only two weeks for around half a million people.
According to Jordan News Agency, spokesperson of the WFP Abeer Etefa stated that although the volume of supplies entering Gaza is increasing, it remains well below the daily target of 2,000 tons, as only two crossings into the Strip are currently open.
Etefa emphasized the necessity of utilizing every border crossing point to achieve the required scale-up. During a press conference in Geneva, she mentioned that the program has delivered more than 530 trucks of aid since the ceasefire began.
She pointed out that only the Karam Abu Salem and Kissufim crossings are currently operational. Etefa also highlighted that no crossings into the northern Gaza Strip are open, where famine conditions persist.
