Workshop on Combating Hate Speech Conducted in Irbid

Irbid: The Directorate of Education for Al-Wasatiyeh and Al-Taybeh Districts, in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and the Community Peace Center, organized a crucial awareness workshop on Sunday. This event focused on combating hate speech, rejecting violence and extremism, and addressing the influence of social media and electronic games.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Director of Education, Raad Khasawneh, stressed the significance of such workshops in empowering educational staff to foster a secure and cohesive learning environment. He underscored the necessity of enhancing cooperation between educational and security institutions to support the educational process and foster community peace.

The workshop, hosted at Fatima Al-Zahra Mixed Secondary School, aimed to instruct school counselors on their vital role in combating hate and violence. It sought to instill values of tolerance and respect within and beyond the school community, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle these issues in a professional and educational setting.

Captain Ibrahim Al-Zureikat and First Lieutenant Malik Zawahreh from the PSD provided detailed presentations on the perils of online extremism. They offered strategies for promoting dialogue and raised awareness about the risks associated with social media and electronic games for students, along with methods to safeguard against these threats.
