Irbid: Sharifa Nofa bint Nasser, a board member of the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University, met with the President of Yarmouk University, Malek Alsharairi, to discuss a proposed development project for the Museum of Jordanian Heritage. The meeting centered on strategies to transform the museum into a specialized scientific, cultural, and tourism hub.
According to Jordan News Agency, Sharifa Nofa emphasized the university's pivotal role in preserving cultural and archaeological heritage, noting that the modernization project aims to enhance the museum's status as an educational center for researchers, students, and tourists. She highlighted that the initiative seeks to increase tourist visits to Irbid through partnerships with tourism authorities, which is expected to benefit the local economy and promote Jordan's cultural heritage.
Alsharairi reiterated the university's dedication to enhancing its academic and cultural facilities, expressing full support for the museum's development. He stressed the museum's importance in preserving and showcasing archaeological artifacts with contemporary curation methods.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the proposal's key aspects, including architectural and programming updates to align the museum with international collection management and interactive display standards.
