Amman: The Lower House Media and National Guidance Committee, led by MP Dr. Hussein Omoush, visited the Zaha Cultural Center (ZCC) on Sunday to assess the center's programs, activities, and its role in serving children, youth, and the community.
According to Jordan News Agency, Omoush stated that the center possesses a clear vision and a genuine understanding of the needs of Jordanian society through its programs. These initiatives are designed to unlock the potential of children and youth, equipping them with skills necessary for the job market. He noted that numerous young individuals have benefited from the center's training programs, acquiring valuable skills that have enhanced their job prospects. Omoush emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts across various institutions to instill hope and confidence in the youth, empowering them to shape their future.
Discussing the center's objectives, Omoush highlighted its aim to empower target groups with skills and competencies that render them more competitive in the job market. This, in turn, would boost their income, self-confidence, and productivity. He underscored the significance of the center's role in offering purposeful programs and activities that enhance the abilities and skills of children and youth. Omoush stressed the necessity to support institutions and centers providing quality services to the community and to foster cooperation and coordination with them.
Rania Subaih, the center's executive director, provided an overview of the center's key programs, projects, work mechanisms, and partnerships with various entities. To date, she mentioned that the center has established a distinguished presence in volunteer work, earning 85 awards at the Arab and international levels. She added that ZCC has formed partnerships with around 350 entities, including international organizations, civil society institutions, and the public and private sectors.
Subaih elaborated on the center's commitment to nurturing creativity and skills in children from an early age through specialized programs in arts, programming, artificial intelligence, and robotics. She noted the participation of the center's students in national, Arab, and international competitions, where they have won approximately 15,000 awards. Additionally, she highlighted the center's economic empowerment programs, such as hydroponic and greenhouse projects, which train youth in modern agricultural techniques to establish their own projects and market their products.
