Amman: The head of the Zarqa Municipality Committee, Khaled Al-Khashman, announced that there will be no closures of shops or commercial establishments before the August 15 deadline for businesses to regularize their licensing status.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Khashman encouraged business owners and traders to utilize the grace period by visiting the municipality's Professional Licenses Department to complete necessary procedures for legal compliance. The decision to extend the deadline is intended to support the commercial sector and enable business owners to meet licensing requirements without halting their operations.
The grace period is applicable to commercial establishments with licenses that expired in 2025 and 2026, allowing them to operate within a regulated legal framework. Al-Khashman advised owners of shops and commercial establishments to review their business licenses, verify the accuracy of the information, and ensure that their registered details match their actual commercial activities. He urged them to resolve any discrepancies or finalize outstanding licensing procedures with the Professional Licenses Department before the deadline.
Al-Khashman emphasized that the process of regularizing business licenses is not designed to impose additional burdens on traders or disrupt their operations. Instead, it aims to promote a more organized and stable business environment, protect business owners' rights, strengthen compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and ensure fair competition while serving the public interest.
