He expressed hope for ongoing moral and spiritual support from the Vatican, noting the significance of the current moment for Ukraine's future.
Zelenskyy extended his wishes to the newly elected pope for wisdom, inspiration, and strength, both spiritually and physically, in fulfilling his mission. He concluded his message with the Latin blessing "Ad multos annos!" which means "For many years."
The Vatican has taken on a mediating role in addressing humanitarian issues related to the war in Ukraine and has consistently advocated for peace.
